This piece was created for The Cornovii who are an upcoming Cornish lifestyle video blog movement. Based on Botallack Mine in the depths of Cornwall, this artwork is part of a set of 3 which will be on sale in galleries around Cornwall this summer.
This artwork is based upon an original photo taken at the mine and employs a completely different technique of artistry than commonly seen in the county. Utilising abstract shapes + linework whilst staying true to the perspective and structure of the scene creates this immersive, atmospheric and original scene synonymous with Kernow.
The piece is in vector format meaning it’s infinitely scaleable and perfect for high fidelity printing.
We love it when our clients come to us with ingenious ideas like this one. A local client commissioned us to design an invitation for his ‘annual 39th’ birthday party and suggested the strap line “Put a chock in the wheels of time at 39”.
We ran with this brief and decided to visually represent this strap line in the form of an old carriage clock with a chock wedged in the mechanism therefore jamming the clock hand pointing to 39!
This artwork was built from the ground up using hundreds of layers and individual components resulting in a super detailed, fully scaleable vector artwork. The main artwork was supplemented with other brand assets we had produced for John and we printed a few for his birthday!
The Mine Engine House artwork is an in-house project which we make available as a print online as well as in galleries + shops around the county.
An exploration in ‘low poly’ design techniques, this artwork is made up of straight lines forming various sized triangles revealing the iconic Cornish engine house formation. This approach is different to anything we’ve seen and bridges the gap between the traditional Cornish based art and those looking for a more contemporary vibe for their more modern homes.
