Dr Kombu from Nova Scotia required a fresh new look for their bespoke range of Kombucha fermented Tea drinks. The team wanted the label to reflect the energy and tradition of Nova Scotia.
As with many projects, ideas began on paper with a selection of concept sketches for the label and logo being penned with focus on layout and content. Powerful designs were brought forward and developed digitally with colour being added and other details. The iconic Nova Scotian lighthouse became a feature in the design and added a distinctive design cue easily recognisable on the shelf.
All work delivered in a form that allowed the client to take straight to the manufacturer.

Hudson’s came to us in need of a vintage looking packaging solution for their kids Glockenspiel Xylophone. The client had little more than a basic logo to work with which allowed for a lot of creative freedom. Starting with basic 1970’s inspired geometric shapes we constructed a host of pattern work to act as the backbone of the packaging design. Successful designs were developed using a muted palette of colour and a set of existing typefaces that complemented the design.
The design language we established in this packaging design also acted as a brand identity for Hudson’s giving them plenty of value moving forward.
Chumo are a really exciting natural skincare brand based in China and supplying worldwide. There’s a difference between when a brand says it’s ‘natural’ and actually being natural, and we can say that Chumo falls in to the latter! The ingredient list looks more like a food menu!
Chumo came to us with a need for a body of packaging solutions that communicated the values they had worked so hard to incorporate into the product. Starting with the St John’s hand cream, we created a mood board capturing the essences we and the team felt the packaging should have. Some of the textures gathered were stylistically recreated in vector and used as backgrounds to the main body of text which pulled colours from the patterns.
